As the hiatus on the LIS Mental Health project continues, we wanted to update the community on our status.
We’ve donated $1,131 to BEAM: the Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective. Here’s how they describe their work: “BEAM builds ecosystems of care for Black and historically underserved communities across the United States and beyond. We train, fund, and resource liberation-centered models of mental health and healing through a national network of therapists, wellness practitioners, organizers, and community leaders.” This donation is in addition to the $5,861 we raised to donate to Mental Health First Aid.
We’re so grateful to everyone who has contributed to the LIS Mental Health zine, either by creating pieces or reading the zine. It’s wild to know we’ve raised so much through small donations of just $5 per zine!
