Meet the Team

Liz Chenevey (@gnomadlibrarian) is the Psychology and Social Work Librarian at James Madison University in Virginia. Inside the library, she is interested in affective learning, zines, and critical pedagogies; outside the library she enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, reading zines, and baking pie.

Kate Deibel is the Inclusion & Accessibility Librarian at Syracuse University Libraries in New York. She has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington but would much rather talk about web comics, cats, chili peppers, technology adoption, and changing the world. Connect with her on Twitter @metageeky.

Violet Fox is a library metadata expert who writes a zine about roadside attractions. Find out more about Violet at her website violetbfox.info; if you enjoy opinionated takes about cataloging and classification, follow her on Twitter @violetbfox.

Nicole Gustavsen is the STEM Liaison librarian at Gonzaga University in Washington state. Nicole enjoys reading science fiction, taking naps, and hanging out with their dog Toast.

Kelly McElroy is an outreach librarian at Oregon State University. She organizes with her union, makes zines, and likes to go to the coast. You can find her on Twitter @kellymce.

Abigail Phillips is an assistant professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Once upon a time before the PhD, she served as a public librarian in Southwest, Georgia. She is passionate about running, craft beer, oddball music, LIS research, mental health, and attempting to use an exclamation point at the end of every sentence. Let’s connect on Twitter: @abigailleigh.

Annie Pho is the Instruction Coordinator and Assessment Librarian at the University of San Francisco. She is the co-editor for the book Pushing the Margins: Women of Color and Intersectionality in LIS, as well as the co-editor of the Critical Race and Multiculturalism Series for Library Juice Press. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her cat, explore the SF Bay Area, and spends way too much time reading comments on the internet. Follow her on Twitter at @catladylib!

Jess Fenander is an LIS professional at Foley Library, Gonzaga University, working in Interlibrary Loan/User Services. Her interests include exploring the Pacific Northwest (PNW) as her new home, checking out more books than she could possibly read at once, and using her library resources to stay up to date on her geographic area of interest, Latin America. Her free time is full of park visits, tackling many interior design projects at once, and play time with her kitten, Michi.
